Emily is an associate at our Albuquerque office. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Spanish from the University of Colorado. She then attended The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law where she served as the Chief Managing Editor of the Ohio State Law Journal and graduated in 2019 with her law degree.

She began her legal career as a county prosecutor and handled a heavy caseload of misdemeanor and felony offenses. She then worked for the New Mexico Attorney General’s Office in the criminal appellate and government accountability divisions. As an Assistant Attorney General, Emily wrote numerous appellate briefs for the New Mexico Court of Appeals and the New Mexico Supreme Court. She also counseled several state boards and commissions regarding regulatory and administrative law. In October of 2024, she joined McCoy Leavitt Laskey LLC and has enjoyed utilizing her extensive courtroom and legal writing experience to provide comprehensive advocacy for clients.

Outside of work, Emily spends her time hiking, reading, and playing video games.
