Jason L. West

Jason was born in Fremont, Nebraska, and throughout the Midwest as a child.  Jason attended Oklahoma State University.   At Oklahoma State, he received the Regents Distinguished Scholarship and was a Research Scholar.    Jason then attended Oklahoma City University School of Law where he received the prestigious Hatton Sumners Scholarship all three years. 

After admission to the Oklahoma Bar in 1998, Jason began his career with a large firm.  He handled a diverse case load from probate to products liability litigation.    Jason was the "swing man" for his firm working both their thriving general practice and the firm's statewide insurance defense practice.   This diversity of experience made him comfortable in any situation his practice of law requires. 

In 2003, Jason joined a personal injury Plaintiff's firm in San Antonio.   In 2005, Jason joined the largest insurance defense firm in San Antonio, TX.   In this position, he was responsible for litigating every type of insurance defense case from pre-litigation investigation to verdict.    Jason quickly gained the trust of the managing partners operating independently in the management of his own case load.   This trust culminated with him becoming a partner handling complex litigation involving catastrophic injuries. 

In the summer of 2024, Jason joined McCoy Leavitt Laskey as a partner where he continues to handle complex litigation involving the energy industry, the trucking industry and road construction accidents. 

Jason has been married to Shawna for over 30 years.   Jason and Shawna are empty nesters with their daughter, Kiara employed as a nurse in San Antonio.   In his free time Jason is active at his church, chasing his next great restaurant experience and a fanatic for his beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers.
