MICHAEL D. AIKEN is a partner at McCoy Leavitt Laskey, LLC. He obtained a B.A. in psychology from Miami University in 2002, and graduated from Marquette University Law School in 2006. Michael competed in the corporate litigation competition and served on the general board. He also served as a legal intern for Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Jon P. Wilcox and Wisconsin Eastern District Court Judge Lynn S. Adelman.
Through his lifelong interest in psychology and strategy, Michael has developed a methodic approach to evaluating claims, negotiation, and building persuasive stories and themes to connect with a jury at trial. His practice is inspired by his father and grandfather, who were both civil litigators in Milwaukee. He works in the areas of insurance, product and system failures, and catastrophic personal injury accidents. His cases have included gas and other chemical explosions, consumer products, mechanical devices, workplace equipment, fireworks and carbon monoxide poisoning. Michael was recognized as a Wisconsin Rising Star in 2012, and 2014-2019.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys learning about computer programming, racquet sports, and skiing. He lives in Whitefish Bay, WI with his wife Jennifer and three children.
