Tara K. Lor

Tara K. Lor is a litigation attorney focusing on complex civil litigation and appellate practice in state and federal courts. She brings a strong judicial perspective to her advocacy, having served in multiple clerkship and staff attorney roles within the federal and state court systems.

Before joining McCoy Leavitt Laskey, Ms. Lor practiced complex litigation and appellate advocacy in New Mexico and previously served as a Pro Se Staff Attorney for the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico and as a Career Law Clerk to judges on the U.S. District Court, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, and the New Mexico Court of Appeals.

Her practice focuses on defending medical malpractice, oilfield and industrial accident, commercial motor vehicle, and catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases, with an emphasis on strategic discovery, dispositive motion practice, and trial and appellate strategy.

She earned her J.D. in 2010 and her B.A. from the University of New Mexico and is admitted to practice in New Mexico state courts, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico, and the Tenth Circuit.

Outside of practice, Ms. Lor is a certified fitness instructor and enjoys strength training, spending time with her dogs, and staying active.
